The Campfire, Reimagined.

The perfect end to a Northern Ontario day. Reimagined as a functional serving board, Sundown embodies that cherished moment of peace by the water. The intricate engraving features two Adirondack chairs and a crackling fire on a quiet lake shore—a scene that instantly evokes memory and nostalgia.

The artwork is set against a dramatic, custom-poured epoxy "sky." Starting with a moody charcoal grey that mimics rising smoke, it swirls into fiery red and warm gold, perfectly capturing the intensity of a sunset over the wilderness. To complete its transformation, we’ve added robust, modern metal bar handles, offering a comfortable and secure grip for moving from the kitchen to the camp circle.

Utility & Design

  • Serving & Prep: The top face features a high-gloss, crystal-clear epoxy flood coat, protecting the detailed art and providing a durable, food-safe surface for presentation. We’ve left the underside as bare, natural Spruce wood, which can be used for light prep and slicing with knives.

  • Refined Utility: The addition of sleek brushed metal handles elevates this piece, adding a contemporary contrast to the rustic engraving and the swirling epoxy sky.

  • Born of the North: Handcrafted at Belvie Acres in Northern Ontario, every "Sundown" board is a unique, 1-of-1 pour with its own distinct grain and character.

Maker’s Care Note: To preserve the pristine, glass-like finish of the "Sundown" serving face, always use the bare wood underside for any direct cutting with metal utensils. The epoxy face is durable but is meant for presentation, not as a cutting surface.
