The Belvie Acres Story: Raw Wood & Real People

Let’s be honest: we aren't a high-gloss corporate factory. We don’t have a mahogany-paneled showroom or a fleet of branded trucks.

What we do have is 40 acres in the Northern Ontario bush, a portable sawmill under a tarp shed, and a dedicated on-site workshop that has been meticulously converted into a woodworking powerhouse.

While our horses might technically have a nicer barn than our current workshop, we’ve spent the winter building a precision-engineered production line right here on the property. We’ve carved out dedicated zones to ensure professional-grade results:

  • The Milling Station: Where raw Northern Ontario timber meets the blade.

  • The Burn Studio: Home to our high-precision laser engraving.

  • The Finishing Room: A climate-controlled environment dedicated solely to "flood coat" epoxy and hand-rubbed finishes.

We started this because we were tired of "store-bought" lumber. After building our own guest cabins, sheds, and outbuildings, we realized the best pieces come from the trees in our own backyard. We wanted to create things you simply can’t find in a big-box store.

The Workshop Reality

The Belvie Acres Crew

We are a multigenerational household working together to build something lasting.

  • Johnathan: Project Manager, Graphic Designer, and Lead Laser Operator. (Usually found coordinating orders over the phone during his 9-5 lunch break).

  • Sylvie: Our resident Epoxy Expert. If a piece has a flawless, glass-like finish, she’s the one who stayed up until 2 AM to make sure it was perfect.

  • Erik: The Carpenter. The hands behind the builds and the one turning raw slabs into functional art.

  • Craig: The Property General. From grading the driveway to keeping the sawmill running, he’s the reason the 40 acres stays operational.

  • Emily: The Logistics Hub. Between managing the dogs, the horses, and the household, she keeps the projects moving and the team fed.

Why Work With Us?

We work 9-to-5 jobs so we can spend our 5-to-9s (and 9-to-2s) in the shop. We don’t hide the fact that we’re a small, family-run operation near Espanola—we lean into it.

For our neighbors: You’re getting a piece of Northern Ontario timber, milled and crafted by people who live down the road.

For our corporate clients: You’re getting total supply-chain control. Because we mill our own lumber and handle our own design and engraving, we offer a level of customization and "stump-to-slab" authenticity that mass-manufacturers can’t touch.

We might have sawdust in our hair and a pack of Poodles at our heels, but we deliver professional-grade results that we’re proud to put the Belvie Acres name on.
